Thousands of car fans from across the UK gathered at the weekend at Laverstoke Park Farm* in Hampshire for the inaugural Carfest.

The event was organised by Chris Evans with proceeds going to BBC Children in Need.

There was a huge array of both new and classic cars on display, including some of the latest hypercars and famous models from the race track and rally stage. Great organic food and music completed what proved to be a great day out for all the family.

Click through our gallery to get a flavour of the weekend and see some of the highlights...

*Laverstoke Park Farm is an organic farm owned and run by Jody Scheckter, the former Formula One world champion.

Looks like it was a good event, saw Chris on The One Show still wearing his gear. Well done to all the organisers, will try and go next year.

Why can.t MSN filter out these stupid people advertising Dating Sites, it is not the right place for them!!!

We were at Carfest on Saturday, a brilliant day, even if it did rain, didnt dampen our spirts. So glad we were lucky enough to get tickets.  Loads to see and do and in the evening a brilliant concert with The Feeling and Texas.  Lets hope Chris organises another one next year.

My daughter and friends were at this fest.  She loved it and from her reports I (as a 76yr old pensioner ) woulld have loved to have been there.  How refreshing to hear of an event that the whole family could enjoy.  Her reports of perfect organisation and great mutual respect by alll the fans of cars and music alike brought joy and hope to my heart.  Good luck to all involved for future similar events.

Had a great weekend at CarFest.

Good cause and superb effort from Chris Evans. like him or loathe him he put 110% into this.

Only problems were the toilets (not enough) and the tents were squashed in on the campsites.

If this is held again next year I would go but they really need to sort the camping and toilets out.

Well done Chris

Had no idea this was on so close to me. I always forget Scheckter owns a farm nearby. I was at Reading anyway, but I wish I'd known about this!

The only children in need in the UK are those in need of a severe beating (most of them)

A great event and useful fund-raiser but a pain in the neck for the local people and should have been held elsewhere!
