The James Bond franchise is 50 years old, tying in nicely with the just-launched 23rd film in the series, Skyfall. In 1962, Dr No was launched to cinema screens and, so captivating was that first film, the Bond treadmill just keeps on turning with no sign of 007 hanging up his revolver anytime soon. To celebrate this golden anniversary we have lined up the most iconic cars ever to have transported the not-so-secret agent...

Take note, The registration number of the Skyfall Aston DB5 is the same as the Aston first used 50yrs ago. Surely Q didn't restore the original DB5 lol

A beautiful selction of cars. My favourite is the Aston. But I always loved the Lotus until I had one and it spent most of it's life in garages. it's true what Lotus drivers say it stands for. Lots Of Troble Usually Serious. But when they are working you just wouldn't give it up.

My favorite is the Aston Martin in Goldfinger with Sean Connery as Bond. In second place is the  White Lotus Esprit SI which is featured in Roger Moore's first Bond movie.  Not only do's it look incredibly modern at the time but is submersible as well...  The 3rd one is the Yellow Citroen 2cv.  At the time my mother drove us around in an identical model and was yellow. I still remember the sound of it which can be likened to a sewing machine... I called it the duck.  The 4th is the Yamaha bike which is driven by Sean Connery in Thundreball. The 5th id the BMW 750IL in bond movie with Pierce Brosnan.  My uncle had a very similar BM in the same series and that reminded me so much of it...    The last but not least is the Aston Martin driven by Daniel Craig in Skyfall...  If only I had all of them as my pride and joy...

What we do when we get bored.

My father had an ex-GPO van.

He called it his Premium Bond car.

Peace.

I didn't start with Dr No, it was Casino Royale in 1967, Bond was played by David Niven.

The only one for me will always be the Aston.

British engineering and design when we led the world.

Now we just support most of it it would seem.............
