This svelte soft-top is the latest Audi to wear the firm's performance-focused boot badge - it's the RS5 Cabriolet and it's gunning for the ageing BMW M3's crown as the best V8 convertible in town.

Mmmmm.

After reading the article on the launch of the Ford Mondeo, I know which one I would prefer.

In fact any ten year old Audi would be better than a new Ford.

Just what we expect from Audi, pure CLASS.

Strange, Mr Sheen, not sure what Audi you've been driving, but after 8 differing Audis over a number of years I have never had a problem hustling them along twisty roads in this country or abroad.  Far better finished then BMW or Mercedes and superb in crappy weather conditions.

Example; new 3l touring, part of the trim fell off during test drive - sales comment that usually gets picked up during pre inspection! New BMW cabriolet with metal roof, engine light came on, engine started to run roughly then died, sales guy "switch off and restart" so obviously known problem!  Any other test drives in other makes have never given problems, so I tend not to regard BMW very highly.

Apologise for multiple posts, but MSN's system seems to think there is a hyper link, which is crazy given all the spams on all their forums with embedded links!

Judging by the thumbs down when I comment on BMW, there are a few who are beemer fans.

Having test driven quite a few beemers when looking to buy a new car, something usually happens to end the possible purchase.

Mr Sheen  being an Audi fan cant under stand your coment are you telling me all BMWs dont have the company image,as ford (BEST SELLING CARS IN ENGLAND)  same with   bentley, rolls royce, vauxhall etc etc, listening to Clarkson to much ie press brain wash, tell you what I will put my A3RS on an icy road or mountain pass and watch me vanish

While the RS5 Cab is lovely, all that power is really wasted as you can't use it properly in an open car!

It's hard to get excited by any Audi tbh. The R8 is an exception but even that doesn't make you say wow when you see one. Would be nice if every car in the range didn't look exactly the same, but their sales are good so vvtf do I know.

Nige, I just prefer cars to be light, involving and sporty. These are things that audi don't seem bothered about. Yes if you want to zip along at high speed in a straight line then I'm sure they're great, but when you put an audi on a nice twisty british b road and it all falls apart.

Nice but my S2000 is nicer than an M3 and a lot cheaper.
