1992 was an important year for anyone remotely interested in performance vehicles. It saw the beginning of production of arguably the seminal supercar: the McLaren F1. Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, 19 lucky owners congregated in Italy to commemorate the special car's special birthday.

lets face it, the mclaren f1 is the GREATEST car ever made.

The F1 is faster off the mark than the Veyron as it takes a little while for the big beetle to sort itself out, but the F1 is much, much more beautiful in its design.

they should have had one in the olympic opening ceremony. one of the best things britain made. should have just drifted it around the stadium, would have been so much better than listening to paul mccartney

It's still as jaw-dropping now as it was then. The sexiest thing on four wheels ever, and I just love it, as much now as I did then. The Veyron and others may go quicker, but I think the McL still has it. Just beautiful.
