New Peugeot 208 – Let Your Body Drive
Ergonomic and intuitive
The driver's whole environment has been re-engineered to make life behind the wheel more intuitive, ergonomic and convenient than ever before. With a smaller steering wheel, eye level instrument panel and large multimedia colour touchscreen, our new 208 responds to the slightest touch.
Lighter, Slimmer, Faster, Greener
The 208 aims to create a new design path for Peugeot. Here, performance, spaciousness and technology are rivalled by a reduction in weight and improved CO2 emissions.
We set out to build a car that had reduced environmental impact at the heart of its design. Cutting CO2 output was paramount. That meant advances in engineering, aerodynamics and extra touches like ultra-low resistance tyres. Combined with the efficiency of our HDi FAP diesel engines and VTi petrol engines, it's one of our greenest cars ever.
We were also determined to slim down the Peugeot 208. The Peugeot 208 weighs up to a massive 173kg less than an equivalent 207 with an engine of similar power. The overall weight of the 208 starts from only 975kg. This low weight, combined with our renowned chassis expertise means that, like any small Peugeot, it handles superbly.
An unmistakable presence
Taking the DNA from our previous successes, we've created something bolder and more ambitious. The new Peugeot 208 isn't just a revamp, it's a regeneration. The result is a compact car with reduced overhangs, sleek angles between the short bonnet and the windscreen and an impressive body shape. The exterior is sculpted to give the car a dynamic look, even when it's sitting on your drive. The floating front grille, signature LED lighting and boomerang-shaped rear lights have all been designed to give the 208 an unmistakable presence.
