The car boasts interior and exterior styling courtesy of none other than Victoria Beckham. Victoria was recruited by Land Rover to add some glamour to the original launch hype surrounding the car in the summer of 2011.It was also announced back then that she had acted as a design consultant for the Evoque's interior, an aspect of the car that has been particularly well received in the months since. It's no surprise then that the mutually beneficial connection between 'brand Beckham' and 'brand Evoque' has resurfaced with this special edition model.How much designing did Victoria Beckham actually do on this Evoque Special Edition?Much like the extent of her input into the cabin of the standard Evoque, this is something of a grey area. The official Land Rover line is that the car is, "a collaboration between British fashion designer Victoria Beckham and the Land Rover Design team, led by [Land Rover's director of design] Gerry McGovern".What we do know is that the interior of the Range Rover Evoque Special Edition is loaded down with high-end materials that bring a new level of luxury to a driving environment that was already hovering around the pinnacle of the luxury compact SUV class.For Victoria's part, she's keen to draw comparisons between the two British luxury brands involved. In the main though, it's all about the cosmetics.Outside, the car is finished in trendy matt grey paint with contrasting black gloss finishes for the roof, bonnet vents and wheel arches. The wheels are gloss black too but these magnificent 20" forged alloy items also have rose gold accents around the rim. Steer clear of those kerb stones! They're hand-finished with a special 'baseball' stitch, which was apparently "chosen by Victoria as a reference to her sporting husband David Beckham". The same leather is also employed on the rear seats, door inserts and central armrest.The rose gold found outside on the wheels crops up again to highlight some of the controls on a dashboard that is otherwise dominated by black.
