Small is beautiful
The new 208 is a beautifully compact car with reduced overhangs and sleek angles between the short bonnet and the windscreen, both contributing to an impressive body shape. The exterior is sculpted to give the car a dynamic look, even when it's just sitting on your drive. And the floating front grille, signature LED lighting and boomerang-shaped rear lights give it an unmistakable profile. And as the 208 weighs 173kg (27 stone) less than its predecessor, the 207, it's remarkably agile, too. This, combined with Peugeot's renowned chassis expertise, makes for a car that handles as if it's simply an extension of your body.
A sensitive soul
Although the 208 looks smaller on the outside, it's in fact bigger on the inside than the 207. It boasts plenty of legroom, yet still manages to be packed with features, and has been designed to make life behind the wheel more intuitive, ergonomic and convenient than ever before. With a small, sporty, responsive steering wheel, eye level instrument panel and large multimedia colour touchscreen, the 208 responds to the slightest touch - driving has never been so much fun.
A lighter conscience
Performance is no fun if it's at the expense of the environment, though, so Peugeot set out to build a car that has as little impact on the world as possible. Cutting CO2 output was paramount, which meant advances in engineering, aerodynamics and extra touches like ultra-low resistance tyres and Stop and Start technology.
Low fuel consumption was also a must, finally resulting in up to 83.1 mpg, and the range of super-efficient HDi FAP diesel engines and VTi petrol engines, plus its incredibly low weight, all add up to make the 208 one of Peugeot's most economical cars yet.
