Ian is the senior editor on MSN Cars, tasked mainly with keeping the site ticking over day-to-day. He also indulges his love of driving and writing about cars, and enjoys hunting for the quirkier motoring stories.

Before joining MSN Cars he worked on Test Drive magazine as a features writer, where he joined from What Car? having worked on the consumer and roadtest desks.

Ian started his journalism life as an editor of employee magazines for an internal communications agency.

In December 2011 he won the Newspress New Media Award for a second time for creative and innovative use of the medium in motoring journalism at the annual Guild of Motoring Writers awards. Ian was said to have "demonstrated how to plug straight into all the available internet channels, interacting to great effect with the user wherever possible".

Ferrari 430 Scuderia

Current car: Infiniti EX30d long-termer. "I want to find out if the leftfield Infiniti can take on the Germans."

All time favourite car: "Where do I start? My current favourite real-world car is a BMW 335d, but if I suddenly inherited several million I'd fill the garage with a Porsche 911 GT3, Ferrari 430 Scuderia (pictured right), an original Porsche 911 Carrera RS, a TVR Sagaris, and my guilty pleasure, a Datsun 240Z.
